MY BACKGROUND

Francesca Anderson holds BA and MA degrees in music performance from San Jose State University. Ms. Anderson has been an active performer and teacher in the Bay Area since 1984. She has performed with many bay area groups including the Monterey County Symphony, Monterey Bay Symphony, Opera San Jose, Santa Cruz Symphony, Paul Masson Summer Music Series, American Music Theatre, and Hidden Valley Opera in Carmel. Ms. Anderson has also appeared as soloist with the Ohlone Symphony and the South Bay Youth Orchestra.

 

Ms. Anderson moved her family to El Dorado Hills in 2005 where she keeps an active private teaching studio in addition to Tague Music Store in Citrus Heights.  Ms. Anderson also enjoys freelance performing with artists such as renowned Folsom guitarist Daniel Roest.  Ms. Anderson is principal flutist with the Folsom Lake Symphony, a position she has held since 2014, and has regularly performed with the Camellia City Flute Choir since 2009.

Ms. Anderson is passionate about flute playing and loves to share this passion with the Sacramento community, especially young, aspiring flute students.  She was a founding member of The Sacramento Flute Club and served as Vice President for two years.  She is also an active member of the MTAC and helps her students complete the Certificate of Merit program.  In March of 2020, seven students completed various levels of CM, with six students earning State Honors.  Ms. Anderson's students are regularly accepted into local honor bands and youth symphonies.  During the 2019-2020 school year, her studio had a record 14 students accepted into various local honor bands with several students also being accepted into All State Honor Band.
